Community VBS

 

August 1-4, 2021

 

Lexington has had an ecumenical vacation bible school program that has gone on for many years. Each year, a different church hosts the week-long event at their facility, and volunteers from all participating congregations come together to organize a program for any and all community children who wish to attend. As Lexington's community of churches has changed over the years, the community of churches participating has also changed; currently, there are four churches that participate in Community VBS: Christ Episcopal Church, Presbyterian Disciples Church, Trinity United Church of Christ, and United Methodist Church. With multiple congregations coming together, VBS becomes a wonderful opportunity to reach out and fellowship as a community.

 

The 2021 Community VBS will be held at the Lexington United Methodist Church and is tenatively scheduled for Sunday, August 1st through Wednesday, August 4th from 6:00 to 8:00pm, with a possible special party on Thursday, August 5th.  Dinner will be served differently then it has in the past.  Sack Dinners will be taken to the children in their specific rooms to help with social distancing.  Each church takes turns providing dinner for this event. 

 

What could be more fun than joining other children and adults as we learn more about the Lord and fellowship and worship together? We can't wait to see you in August!
